Community of Virtual Lawyers
One of our goals is to create a social network of lawyers who who are delivering legal services online, not only for those law firms using the DirectLaw™ virtual law office platform, but also for attorneys who are already practicing virtually and using other technologies to enable their law firms. We want these attorneys to share insights and learning experiences, with the idea that we are all learners as we experiment in delivering legal services over the Internet.
We also want to create a place for lawyers who are not members of the American Bar Association and who interested in the concept of using the Internet as a platform for the delivery of legal services. There are many solo practitioners and small law firms that are not members of the ABA and who are unaware of the ABA's Law Practice Management eLawyering Task Force and the work it has done. It is for these lawyers, as well as our DirectLaw™ clients that we have set up the Virtual Lawyering Group within LinkedIn.
As we are few in number, at this point the easiest social network platform to set up and use is the Group function within LinkedIn. The LinkedIn Group function already links to LinkedIn profiles, and supports multithreaded discussion groups, document and article uploading, news, updates, and member management.
If you want to join the Virtual Lawyering Group at LinkedIn, click here. You have to be a member of LinkedIn to join the group. If you are a member, you have to sign in to access the Group area.
